HAGATNA, Guam — A 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Saturday morning in the Northern Mariana Islands, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The strong quake was located centered 19 miles south-southwest of the island of Agrihan and about 131 miles deep. It was felt as far away as Guam, 370 miles to the south. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, based in Hawaii, issued a statement saying there is no tsunami threat because the quake’s depth. No warnings have been issued.
